SC Farm Report on Tuesday

   Cattle at SC Auctions on Monday:  Compared to last week, feeder steers 
and feeder bulls were 2.00 to 5.00 higher.  Feeder heifers were 2.00 to 
6.00 higher.  Feeder Steers: Medium and Large 1-2 400-500 lbs 137.00-
160.00, 500-600 lbs 130.00-150.00.  Feeder Bulls: Medium and Large 1-2 
400-500 lbs 145.00-160.00, 500-600 lbs 135.00-146.00.  Feeder Heifers: 
Medium and Large 1-2 400-500 lbs 125.00-142.50, 500-600 lbs 120.00-
134.00.  Slaughter cows were 2.00 lower to 4.00 higher.  Slaughter cows: 
Breakers 75-80% lean 57.00-70.00; Boners 85-85% lean 53.00-74.00; Lean 
85-90% lean 52.00-67.00; Lean low dressing 40.00-47.00. Slaughter bulls 
were 2.00 lower to 4.00 higher.  Slaughter Bulls: Average Dressing 1515-
1960 lbs 84.00-99.00; High Dressing none reported; Low Dressing 1025 lbs 
77.00. 
   Cow/Calf Pairs:  Medium and Large 1-2 1190 lbs Young Age cow with 
Calf under 300 lbs 1250.00 per pair.  Small 1-2 785 lbs Young Age Cow
with calf under 300 lbs 1030.00 per pair.
   Hogs on Monday: Plant delivered weighted average. National Direct 
Barrows & Gilts US 1 50-54% lean 250-300 lbs price was 1.60 higher at 
73.78.  Sows live price 300-450 lbs 81.12; 450-500 lbs 84.87; 500-550 lbs 
86.82.   
   SC Grain on Monday: Corn was 7 to 8 cents lower; elevator bids 
5.59, processor bids 6.19-6.34. Soybeans were 26 to 27 cents lower; 
elevator bids 13.46, processor bid 14.06, and export 14.01.  New Crop 
wheat bids were mostly 12 to 13 cents lower; elevator bids 5.59-5.64.  
   Cotton on Tuesday. Southeast base price for 41-4/34 grade was 0.15 
higher at 79.39. 
   Fruits & Vegetables:  Prices paid to SC growers at the Columbia State 
Farmers Market on Tuesday.  Beets dz bnchs Red type 20.00, 25 lb ctns Red 
type topped 12.00; Cilantro ctns bnchd 30s 12.00; Greens 1 1/9 buctns
