Cotton futures are trading 69 to 85 points in the red on Thursday. The US dollar index is up 241 points at midday. The weekly USDA Export Sales report this morning showed 150,635 RB of 18/19 upland cotton sales in the week of 8/23, 34.7% lower than the same week last year. Sales of 2019/20 cotton totaled 49,632 RB. Purchases from China, apparently unfazed by the tariffs, led the way for both 18/19 @ 44,500 RB and 19/20 @ 48,400 RB. The Cotlook A index was up 25 points from the previous day at 93.30 cents/lb on August 29. The weekly AWP is 73.83 cents/lb, and will be updated later today.

Dec 18 Cotton is at 82.06, down 70 points

Mar 19 Cotton is at 82.44, down 77 points

May 19 Cotton is at 82.780, down 85 points
