Cotton

Cotton futures are 43 to 57 points higher at midday, with nearby Dec up 167 on thin trade. USDA reported that as of Sunday, the US cotton crop was 79% harvested. That is a move of just 5% over that week, and lagging the average of 80%. The Monday afternoon COT report showed spec funds in cotton futures and options adding 10,023 contracts to their net long position of 52,051 contracts as of last Tuesday. The Cotlook A index was up 75 points from the previous day points to 82.35 cents/lb on November 27. Online cash prices on the Seam were up 80 points to 68.48 cents/lb, as sales rose to 17,876 bales.

Dec 17 Cotton is at 73.82, up 167 points,

Mar 18 Cotton is at 71.99, up 57 points

May 18 Cotton is at 72.7, up 46 points

Jul 18 Cotton is at 73.100, up 43 points
