Cotton

Cotton futures were 7 to 72 cents higher in the front months, with the back months lower. Nearby Dec was up 190 points on thin trade. The US dollar was 318 points higher on the day. The USDA baseline projections put the 2018/19 cotton plantings at 11.2 million acres. That would be down from this year’s 12.4 million acres. The Cotlook A index was up 75 points from the previous day points to 82.35 cents/lb on November 27. Online cash prices on the Seam were up 80 points to 68.48 cents/lb, as sales rose to 17,876 bales.

Dec 17 Cotton closed at 74.050, up 190 points,

Mar 18 Cotton closed at 72.140, up 72 points

Jul 18 Cotton closed at 73.110, up 44 points
