Cotton

Cotton futures are trading mostly 1 to 3 points higher this morning. They were higher yesterday, with nearby Dec up 190 points on thin trade. That soon to expired December contract was down 118 points overnight. The US dollar was 318 points higher on the day. The USDA baseline projections put the 2018/19 cotton plantings at 11.2 million acres. That would be down from this year’s 12.4 million acres. The Cotlook A index was up 75 points from the previous day points to 82.35 cents/lb on November 27. Online cash prices on the Seam were up 80 points to 68.48 cents/lb, as sales rose to 17,876 bales.
