Cotton
Cotton futures are 17 to 28 points lower this morning. They closed mostly 21 to 52 points lower on Friday. The USDA AWP was updated to 60.55 cents/lb through next Thursday, 36 points lower than the previous week. Mills increased their on-call position to 13.408 million bales last week, which is a record. The Cotlook A index for September 28 was down 10 points from the previous day at 78.80 cents/lb.The weekly COT report had spec traders backing off their net long position by another 6,173 contracts in Cotton futures and options. Their net position as of Tuesday was at 63,339 contracts.
