Cotton futures were 35 to 88 points lower on Monday, as the US dollar was 557 points higher. The US cotton harvest was reported at 17% complete as of Sunday, compared to the average of 13%. The Crop Progress report also showed 67% of the crop with bolls opening. Condition ratings fell 3% in gd/ex ratings to 57%. That put the Brugler500 index at 349, down 8 points from the previous week. The USDA AWP was updated to 60.55 cents/lb through next Thursday, 36 points lower than the previous week. The Cotlook A index for September 29 was up 25 points from the previous day at 79.05 cents/lb.

May 18 Cotton closed at 67.710, down 64 points
