Cotton

Cotton futures are currently 28 to 35 points lower in most contracts at midday. Shipments of upland cotton were 148,200 RB, lagging this time last year by 29.5% and 11.03% lower than last year. Total commitments are now 32.8% larger than this time in 2016. They are now 76% of the USDA export projection, well above last year’s 57% and the average of 63%. The USDA Adjusted World Price was updated to 68 cents/lb, 205 points higher than the previous week. The Cotlook A index was 75 points higher from the day prior on December 21 to 86.50 cents/lb.

Mar 18 Cotton is at 77.66, down 28 points,

May 18 Cotton is at 77.61, down 35 points

Jul 18 Cotton is at 77.85, down 32 points
