Cotton futures are trading 30 to 60 points lower this morning ignoring the thin October at -3. They settled with most contracts 75 to 98 cents lower on Wednesday. Analysts are expecting to see 2018/19 export sales during the week of 8/16 higher than last week’s report of 77,718 RB. Expectations are low for any sort of deal to come out of this week’s trade talks between the US and China, but the two countries are at least back to talking. The Chinese delegation arrived in Washington Wednesday afternoon. The Cotlook A index was up 120 points from the previous day at 92.55 cents/lb on August 21. The weekly AWP is 75.45 cents/lb and will be updated on Thursday.
