Cotton

Cotton futures have rebounded from early weakness and are mostly 13 to 20 points higher at midday, despite the US dollar showing 210 point gains. The USDA Ginnings report showed 788,550 running bales processed thus far in the US, up from 678,850 a year ago. All were in AZ or TX. The Seam reported sales of 2,759 bales with an average price of 67.50 cents/lb. The Cotlook A index for September 26 was up 100 points from the previous day at 79.70 cents/lb. China sold the entire 30,800 MT of cotton in Wednesday’s auction of state reserves.

Dec 17 Cotton is at 68.88, up 13 points

Mar 18 Cotton is at 68.03, up 14 points

May 18 Cotton is at 68.630, up 20 points
